Craw-Bogle Trader

The Craw-Bogle Trader

Discussed in the back pages of The Halloween Retrospect (Volume 1) there has been a shift (for a small group of us) away from the traditional buy/sell market of vintage Halloween collectibles, including some interesting exploratory methods from basic trades (i.e. swaps) to raffles, etc. And while each person certainly has their own style of vintage collecting (and may continue unbothered by this changing market of imploding platforms), for those of a modest budget it may be difficult to stomach the increase in market hype (equalling unrealistic prices) with a superimposed layer of aggressive resellers (that is, those not builders of their own collections, but as brokers to the next richest buyer). Anyway, it has been found for some that personal connections for trade has been a great way to recapture the modest gifts of olde Hallowe’en. If you are the latter, check out Craw Bogle Trader.

Details and plans will develop, while above is an example of items (some previously) available for trade...

Vintage Halloween collector items available for trade includes Beistle, Dennison, Gibson, Whitney, and more.

THR Library Deaccessioning

On occasion The Halloween Retrospect archive library needs to cull certain vintage catalog inventory and must dispose of previously shelved items (as outside the scope of the collection, or from redundancy, etc.). Rather than toss these away without regard, it would be preferable to get these in the hands of another individual or group that would find the content of importance. The preferred method (as mentioned above) is by trade (instead of selling).

A collage of trade catalogs is shown including Dennison's Bogie Book and more.

Above is a quick collage showing some initial items posted to the The Halloween Retrospect website... and please visit there for further details.
